I recently used the services of Russell Mayeaux, aka “The Mold Guy”, to evaluate a home that I was under contract to purchase. I was right at the beginning of the due diligence period when I secured Russell’s services. The scope of Russell’s work was to check for moisture and mold problems in the home. Along with my realtor, I met Russell at the home and I was immediately impressed by his knowledge of moisture issues and his professional manner. Russell found moisture in one of the walls and he found that the HVAC system had some mold and also needed a professional cleaning. Additionally, Russell took indoor and outdoor mold samples. Within a few business days, I received the results of the lab samples. I communicated the moisture issue to the seller and the seller agreed to fix the wall and to clean the HVAC system. The repairs that the seller made to the wall, both to dry it out and to fix the source of the leak, were in excess of $4,000. I would highly recommend Russell’s services to anyone concerned about moisture/mold issues. I have much greater peace with the knowledge that my children are sleeping in a safe environment! One other note – I have used the services of other moisture professionals and have I concluded that Mr. Russell Mayeaux is in the “elite” category when it comes to moisture/mold professionals!

To whom it may concern,
Just wanted to let everyone know how professional Russell has been throughout our
“mold problem”. When mold was discovered in our home we called the county
environmental office who referred me to Russell.
Russell arrived at our home and performed testing on the mold in our kitchen. He arrived
on time and was very polite, understanding and patient with our questions. While waiting
on the test results, he returned to our home to check on my family and to loan us an air
filter system to keep my family from further effects of the mold.
Russell is a ‘well of knowledge’ about mold and the effects it could have on our home

In February I called Russell one night around 6:00pm to come out to my place because I thought that I had black mold. Within 30 minutes I met Russell at my house he looked at the problem and said “you definitely have a mold problem” he took the samples he needed and gave me great advise on what to do until the reports came back in. In addition to Russell coming out several times following up and checking on Me and my family, I called Russell 3 to 4 times a day with questions about what we needed to do about one thing or the other and he answered his phone every time and was more than happy to answer all my questions.
Russell was very professional in everything that he did when he came to my house he was very presentable and was very knowledgeable about his profession. The mold reports came back in a very timely manner. He showed me all of his credentials and that of his lab. I will always refer him to anyone.
